I also heard that this could also happen if you installed Skyrim and/or NMM in one of the UAC protected standard folders 'C:Program Files' or 'C:Program Files (x86)'. You can/should also install MO (it's complete folder) in Sykrim main folder (not Data folder) to avoid conflicts. In old NMM versions there was a 'feature' that removed ALL text files with the option to not install READMEs. Check your overwrite folder and clear old entries. Then create a start link in MO and run FNIS. Of course, a person has to be willing to put in the time to do it properly - if not, they usually end up posting in the forums (my usual response is to recommend that they read the pinned topic - something simple, yet often not done). Move FNIS and its addins to the last in mod order (left window in MO). And it was all time well spent, as I have a completely stable game (original, not SSE) with 696 mods and 510 total plugins merged down to 252 (and this on a pretty poor PC). Absolutely! I've spent more hours researching mods and, once I've selected the mods I want, editing them in TES5Edit to ensure compatibility, than I've actually spent playing the game. If the mod creator doesn't provide support or feedback to people's queries or problems I usually steer well clear of the mod itself. Also I have used the same custom race with the FNIS PCEA2 for almost 2 years. If you install countless mods countless scripts are loaded at game start then a good machine becomes a toaster.

I also usually check over the comments section in mods that seem a bit complex, just to see if there are any issues. Here is an updated tutorial for Mod Organizer 2 on how to install and use FNIS for Mod Organizer 2 for Skyrim Special Edition. And who knows better than the mod author themself about the possible problems with their mod.Yeah, I always check the mod creator's comments about any incompatibilites with other mods before installing. But you are right - first place to look if you are having a problem with a mod is that mod's Posts page. Originally posted by smr1957:Sometimes it's easier for people to post here.
